Toxic

No, I'm not referring to the song by Britney Spears... This phrase struck me while I was reflecting back on 2008.

Knew of friends who are in Toxic relationships, jobs, etc etc etc. Therefore, I did a little research and got this, and I quote (or rather, copied and pasted):

Dr. Lillian Glass, author of "Toxic People", describes a toxic person as “anyone who manages to drag you down, make you feel angry, worn out, deflated, belittled or confused.” It may be difficult for people to admit they are in a toxic/abusive relationship, because they are intelligent, self-sufficient individuals in other aspects of their lives. Most people in toxic relationships, however, have the sense that something is just not right.

25 Ways to Tell if Your Relationship is Toxic:

1. Your partner puts you down verbally, in private or in front of others.

2. Your partner tells you he/she loves you but behavior shows otherwise.

3. Your partner doesn’t want you to see or talk to friends or family.

4. Your partner is jealous of the time you spend with your kids.

5. Your partner shows up often at your work unexpectedly or opens your mail.

6. Your partner calls you often to see what you are doing.

7. You cry often or feel depressed over your relationship.

8. Your partner says you would have the perfect relationship if only you would change.

9. Your partner wants you to be dependent on him.

10. Your partner does things for you and then uses them to make you feel obligated.

11. Your thoughts, opinions, accomplishments, or words are devalued.

12. You don’t know who you are anymore without him/her, or how you would survive.

13. Your friends/family don’t like your partner or don’t think he is good for you.

14. You have changed things about yourself to suit your partner, even when it is not your taste.

15. You always go where your partner wants to, like movies, restaurants, etc.

16. Your partner has made you feel afraid or unsafe, and you have been afraid to speak the truth at times for fear of upsetting him/her (walking on eggshells).

17. You don’t feel you have control of your life anymore.

18. Your self-esteem is lower since you’ve been with your partner.

19. You think it’s up to you to make the relationship work.

20. You keep secrets about your relationship from others who love you because they wouldn’t understand.

21. Your partner makes you feel unattractive or stupid.

22. Your partner accuses you of cheating and is overly jealous.

23. Your partner can be really sweet to you one minute, and really mean the next.

24. Your partner seems really sweet/loving to you when he/she thinks you are about to leave the relationship, or after he/she has been mean to you.

25. You can’t remember the last time you felt happy for more than a few days straight.

Heart Like A Wheel

Here's Heart Like A Wheel, sung by The Corrs.

Some say the heart is just like a wheel
When you bend it you can't mend it
And my love for you is like a sinking ship
My heart is on that ship out in mid-ocean

They say that death is a tragedy
It comes once and then it's over
But my one only wish is for that deep dark abyss
For what's the use of living with no true lover

And it's only love and it's only love
That can break a human being
and turn him inside out
That can break a human being
and turn him inside out

When harm is done no love can be won
I know it happens frequently
What I can't understand please
God hold my hand
Is why it should have happened to me

And it's only love and it's only love
That can break a human being
and turn him inside out
That can break a human being
and turn him inside out

Some say the heart is just like a wheel
When you bend it you can't mend it
And my love for you is like a sinking ship
My heart is on that ship out on mid-ocean
And it's only love and it's only love
And it's only love it is only love
And it's only love it is only love
And it's only love it is only love

To Keep the Bubbly Bubbly...

I didn't know that to keep a champagne bubbly, all you have to do is to put a tea spoon into the bottle!

Maybe I should try it the next time I open a bottle of champagne!

But the question would then be: To insert the spoon upon opening of the bottle of champagne? Or when I've decided to keep it?

Leave Me Alone

I am not a typical girl, who will blabber out everything just because of the fact that she is feeling unhappy.

You know that I am one who has to put a strong front, while the reason behind it you do not know. I will tell you when I feel like telling you. The more you want to pry it out of me, the more I will not say.

The more you tell me to do something, the more I will not do. I may take into account everything that has been said and done to date, and analyze them. Like what you have said before, Females are Emotional.

So when you piss me off, leave me alone. I will look for you when I feel like it. Do not call me to explain, rationalize etc etc etc.

Thanks.

There's A Fine Fine Line

I caught Avenue Q when it showed in town, same as my boss and lady boss (not together of course). =P

Lady Boss bought the soundtrack, which meant that I get to have a copy of the songs on it too.

Their songs are hilarious, but the following song is able to express my feelings at this moment very well. I will try to post the music track up when I find the time to do so...

There's A Fine Fine Line

Kate Monster:
There's a fine, fine line between a lover and a friend;
There's a fine, fine line between reality and pretend;
And you never know 'til you reach the top if it was worth the uphill climb.

There's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of time.

There's a fine
, fine line between a fairy tale and a lie;
And there's a fine, fine line between "You're wonderful" and "Goodbye."
I guess if someone doesn't love you back it isn't such a crime,
But there's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of your time.

And I don't have the time to waste on you anymore.
I don't think that you even know what you're looking for.
For my own sanity, I've got to close the door
And walk away...
Oh...

There's a fine, fine line between together and not
And there's a fine, fine line between what you wanted and what you got.
You gotta go after the things you want while you're still in your prime...

There's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of time.

Happy 21st Birthday, Darling!

Xiang's 21st birthday! Actually it was yesterday, but hey, it's the thought that counts, right?

Met at Vivo's Bakerzin, whereby we saw this booklet with all their available cakes… We ended up looking at the booklet and salivating over it instead of looking at the menu and deciding on what we SHOULD be having. Doesn't the booklet look good?

We whacked a total bill of over $100, which made 4 ladies very satisfied with ourselves and of course the food. Fun and laughter, cam whoring session started after our stomachs have been satisfied. Actually, it started when we met, but the camera only made its appearance after we have devoured the food. When does it end? NEVER! =)

Love you darling, Welcome to the legal adulthood!

XOXO,
Connie

Required versus Optional

You know, I really don’t understand why is it that people do not know what is the difference between Required and Optional.

Take for example, when there is a meeting that A, B & C is supposed to attend. Of course, that would mean that all 3 of them are to be under the Required tab when one is sending a calendar event via Microsoft Outlook.

And when there is a meeting whereby A & B are required to attend, and optional for C, that would mean that A & B would have to be under the Required tab while C would have to be under the Optional tab, right (as it is not compulsory for him to attend the meeting)?

Point to note, there is not an option of FYI (For Your Information) tab under the recipient field. Only 3 are available - Required, Optional & Resources. See below:

So, with all the above information, what do you think should be under the Required tab when one is on leave?

I find it very funny that the staff in my company would happily put their bosses or the email that tracks staff movements under the Required tab, while placing the teammates that they are working with under the Optional tab.

So does it mean that when that particular staff is on leave, the boss is required to be on leave too?

This brings me back to an entry that I've blogged about before. Does it mean that the person does not obey instructions? Or do they simply DON’T UNDERSTAND them?

Thursday, November 20, 2008

I Wonder

I really don’t understand the following:
  • Why some people will simply tend to ignore instructions,
  • Leave a mess around or rendering a machine unusable unless a professional comes to take a look at it without informing the person in charge,
  • Use the last or last few items and not bothering to inform the person in charge of the low level in supplies,
  • Not checking the physical aspects of the machine that they are using and kick a big fuss over something that can be easily settled with the change of a switch (and of course, insisting that that particular switch was on when questioned),
  • Trying to hide behind a higher authority,
  • Having double standards,
  • Not checking with a manual/guidebook/person in charge when doing that particular item,
  • Calling for help with a problem previously encountered and making it sound like it’s the end of the world (without applying what was advised the first time round).
  • Trying to appear that one knows what is to be done but like I said, TRYING (when the person is not the one in charge of the item, although obviously trying to be helpful)
  • And so on and so forth, but these are the matters that are bugging me at the moment.
Of course, I'm not going to say that don't do things that are specified above, obviously I'm guilty of that, as and when. But sometimes there is just that when these items happen very frequently, it just irks the hell out of me, especially when it was not the first time that it happened, with reminders being sent out and all.

If help is called for every time a slight problem occurs and the help desk personnel have to be physically there all the time, then there will be a need for a cloning and combining machine! Cos like they say, It never rain but pours!

Take a Bow

Yes, I love fun, going out and plain old having fun.

Do not like sharing inner thoughts and feelings easily. Want to know me better? It's not something that is done in hours, days or even weeks of meeting anybody, or AnyBody or ANYBODY.

I am not a machine whereby you press a button and I'll spill everything out. Press a button? System will overload, and might not respond to Alt + Ctrl + Delete.

Overstress it? It'll breakdown and there would be a need to reformat it.

Take it, or leave it.

I love the song Take a Bow, performed by Rihanna.

It's not the lyrics that apply to me, of course. But the way whereby it was sung, having those sounds that she was able to carry out, like those exasperated Please, self directed resigned laughter and sighs.

She sounds like being resigned to fate that that has to happen, after seeing through it all.

Sometimes I feel the same way, but then again, showing those emotions in front of others would only prompt questions that does not help as decisions may already have been made.

Shit Makes Me See

I'm overworked, definitely, judging by the fact that I've been in office from 0900h-2300h (minimum), since 01Oct08.

Yes, I had to work on Public Holidays and weekends... =( All because of poor management. By me, of my staff, of my staff, on their stuff. Lolz! Sounds fun right?

Anyway, bottom line is that I have to be the one clearing up the shit that just happens to flow down. And of course, it being shit, it's not really a pleasant task.

Having to source for part-timers, tapping on resources, getting the part-timers to stay on and complete the project, it is not an easy task. One would be able to see how motivated another being is , be it a personal target, monetary returns or just simply to do a friend/colleague a favor.

For those who have helped me in any way, I just want to say a big THANK YOU.

Well, now I've learnt my lesson. I'll keep a close eye on this potential shit pool, while trying my best to turn it into hopefully, a swimming pool? Lolz! =)

PS: Late nights, stressful times have rendered me with flu. =( I WANNA TAKE MC!! But I can't~ (at least not now)...

PPS: Thank God that this will end on Wednesday. After which the shit pool would be slightly smaller? Lolz! =)

Rolling on...

You wanted a job, one that allows you to have a life while giving you good money.

Me? I gave you a reference to work in a company that was in need of staff.

You? Worked, said that the work was not to what you are looking for, while giving model answers during the interview.

Now? Leave, leaving, left.

Me? Having to stop the shit from rolling down the hill.

Does the above scenario fit what you are going through now? Who do you think is responsible for the headache that is leftover now?

Monday, September 22, 2008

Yeah!

Alright! I've gotten a new phone!

Sony Errisson G900! Cool eh.. I bought a second hand set, hard to believe that I'll do that right? The original price is so expensive! And since StarHub does not have any incentives for me to jump and remain over with them, I guess I'll just port my number over without tying myself down... =)

Past weeks have been busy, real busy, but not with work though... Lol! So busy that I couldn't remember what I did! Lucky for this thing called camera, which allows me to remember bits and pieces of what happened:

Monday: The Face Shop at Marina Square was having a closing down sale. With 10% off storewide and additional 5% off for members, me and 2 other friends/colleagues who went went slightly crazy. I spend $150 there, on top of what was spent the previous week also at the Face Shop and Body Shop. Headed to Sakae Sushi for dinner at about 9.30pm, as we wanted to make use of the HSBC 1-for-1 red plate promotion. After 4 plates, we were still hungry, hence we did a very 'auntie' thing. We asked the service staff if we were able to make payment first and go for a second round under the same promo. And she said YES! Lolz!

Wednesday: Went for Howl At the Moon opening set for Kerry, Tony & Emma's Opening Party. Managed to drag Francis away from his work for that night. Glad to meet him too, after SO long! Had a bit of problems at work, but glad that he's made his decision! =) Hopefully he'll be happier with his work after this!

Thursday: Met up with Sherrie & Xinyi for some retail therapy. But I did not get to do any, cos I'm too broke to do so! Lolz! Too bad Claudia can't join us.. =?

Friday: Brought Javern to the above said bar after his body massage at 老板's place. No pictures were taken as he is supposed to not be at a bar that night! Lolz! =P

Saturday: Went IKEA with my senior from Secondary School. After not having met for at least 7 years we got into contact again and people change! Wow! Truth to be told, he's pretty cute, in a nerdy way... Lolz.. =P Met up with Ivy & YuPei for Ba Ku Teh at Bugis, and cam whoring session starts again! I miss u girls! Let's go crazy soon! =D

Sunday: Sista Fitrie Day! Met my dear girl, who surprised me with a heavy fruit cake that she made herself! *touched* Went for Mani & Facial. The co-boss of the Mani saloon (Wax in the City) is none other than Eddy Herbert (One of the final contestants of Cleo's Most eligible Bachelor 2008). He's HOT!!!

I can't wait for this weekend! *PENANG, HERE I COME!*

O$P$

You know, I really ought to consider a career switch! To being a loan shark! Lolz! Or maybe i should moonlight as one...

See, if I have to charge people who borrow $$ from me and drag the date to return again and again and again, I guess I would be rich by now, even if I charge half of what credit cards charge! Lolz!

And furthermore, I would still be able to display my artistic talents, see?

Sunday, September 14, 2008

Happy Birthday~

Was invited to Javern and Herbert's Bday party on Saturday at Butter Factory. Was supposed to be Hat Themed party, but not many turned up in hats... Lol!

Went Vivo with Val earlier in the day... Shopping, cam whoring and fooding! Lolz!

Have a great celebration man! I enjoyed the drinking session! =D

Exhausted...

Had been a busy busy week the past week. Went out almost every night, meeting up with friends and dining the time away.. =)

Monday - Just Noodles & Marina Mandarin Lounge… Look, the herbal chicken is so soft and tender! Slurp… Lounge music at Marina Mandarin was just as heavenly.

Wednesday - Buffet at Orchard Café! We went for 3 servings, tasted almost everything that was available over there! 'Discovered' a new shellfish: Venus Clam! Interesting eh? Also saw a shop selling those train models that seemed sturdier, unlike the ones that are available in shops nowadays… But then again, the prices are like what rare things are like: pricier.

Friday - Went to Helipad @ Central for the first time since it's opening. We were at the open air area, but it was so stifling as there was no wind! Damn. Supper was much better. We had free champagne! =)

Saturday - Valerie Day! Lol… Went out with Miss Rush-rush, who rushes here and there. We rushed to Central, Clarke Quay, and of course, Zouk, which was the main aim of our outing… Lol! Cam whored, met men, drank, had fun! Lol!

And now, I'm so exhausted, battery is totally flat that I think I would have to recharge for 1 whole month should I wish to head out again…. But then again, recharging would have to wait till 2 weeks later!

PS: Val - It'll be a HAT party!

Monday, September 01, 2008

RSAF Open House & Nationals 2008!

Man in Uniform, Yummilicious! Lol…

Went for the RSAF open house on Saturday, in the late afternoon. Met with the rain at about 3-5pm, was kinda worried that the airshow would be cancelled, but luckily it wasn't.

After which, we went around to see the models of the planes available (after majority of the crowd has dispersed), and asked for quite a number of 'last chance' to see the interior of the different planes!

Anyway, the number of pictures taken totally exhausted my 2 day old Canon Ixus 860is! =) Yeah! New Camera! Cam whore!

I realized that weight gain is actually not such a bad thing after all in certain aspects. With my extra weight, I went on to the next weight category for the 35TH NATIONAL PESTA SUKAN TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008.

Compare and contrast! With my new weight, I got Bronze immediately! Lol…

And a bronze was exactly what I got! I fought, and lost… -_-''' Both my opponent and I had too heavy legs, and were too tired, didn’t manage to score any points on either party. But due to the simple fact that she kept charging in, and was more aggressive, she won. Oh well…

When can I get my Gold Medal? I wanna retire! Lol… Nvm, shall work hard at next year's competition!

Maid Service

Yet another interesting advert that I saw on http://www.share-accomodation.sg/:

Don’t you think it's kind of looking for a maid? And furthermore, this 'maid' still have to pay to stay with the 'owner'! Lol...

Blood Donation?

Was just chatting with my dear Han the other day, and her's a print screen of our conversation:

It would totally sound wrong should one with an overactive imagination should chance upon it while at my laptop with its very stubborn spacebar. Lol!

We were actually just talking about something very simple: Blood Donation. For more information: http://www.hsa.gov.sg/publish/hsaportal/en/health_services/blood_donation.html

We're now looking for a blood drive to donate blood (Just simply to lazy to travel to HSA). Anyone know of any that's going to happen soon?

Wet Wet Weekend

It's been a wet wet weekend thus far, great for sleeping in and not doing anything much! And that's exactly what I've been doing, due to the mad drinking session on Friday and Sat... Thanks to Herbert and Kenneth!

Friday was supposed to be a rest day, but was invited to FHM's Threesome Party by Herbet in the afternoon, and since I've not met him in such a long time, I just tagged along! Meeting place was at Liang Court, whereby I saw an interesting shop:

Big Sign eh? Lol... Anyway, the FHM Party wasn't that much of a fun, though I met some friends there. Hung out at FashionBar after the show as Bert's friends are heading over to MOS that night too. See Pre and post drinks picture:

Snuggled in the coach for the whole of Staurday. Still had the sour taste of alcohol in my mouth when I awoke, hence the downing of water and binging of Bak-kwa, something that usually worked... Lol! Unfortunately, it didn't, not as well. Hence, the falling back into the couch to doze, movie watch and repeat the cycle.

Till the very last half hour, I dragged myself out of the couch to ready myself for Kennth's Birthday Celebrations. It was held at Sketches at Robertson Quay, and here's the only group photo that the camera managed to capture before being low on battery (yet again).

Good Service from Ezlink Singapore!

I'm impressed with the Ezlink Singapore's service!

As a person who has a pretty high standard of service, it is definitely not easy to impress me!
I've submitted a query with regard to auto topup of the ezlink card on Ezlink Singapore website, asking whether it was possible to preset the topup amount to S$100 instead of S$50 when the value of the card hits negative value.

About 2 minutes after I've hit the submit button, a representative from Ezlink Singapore called me on my mobile with regard to my query. Other than informing me that it is not possible, the representative told me the reason behind the limitation, as well as informing that should I wish to topup to the desired amount, I am able to do so at any of the topup machines and do so via Cash or NETS payment.

This kind of service makes me very happy, as I do not have to wait for the whole day before getting my query answered.

Great Job, Ezlink Singapore!

Song Title

Anyone know the name of the song in the following video?

If you do, do let me know! =) Thanks!

Food and Friends

Friday: Met up with Valerie (ie-ie-ie-ie) for the first time ever since she left the company end of last month.

Had wanted to head over to Popeye's at Singapore Flyer to have the dinner, but as we were feeling too lazy, we decided to hunt for dinner around the City Hall area instead. (Read: Raffles City / Suntec / Marina Square).

Decided on Tomo Fine Dining as our dinner place. Nope, we didn't have 5 course fine dining meal that cost a bomb. It was instead a Japanese restaurant whereby we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

How can there not be any desserts when girls meet? =) Chocz Chocolate Fondue... Yummy!

Saturday was a funny day. Neon (my poly group of group leaders for freshmen Orientation), were supposed to meet at East Coast to go for some outdoor activites, namely blading, cycling etc. Meeting time was at 3pm.

As it started raining at about 2.30, Han, our beloved organiser, called up whoever that has confirmed the attendance on Facebook just to find out that majority of them are still at home due to the rain, save for one. We couldn't find Kaisheng, as his phone batt was flat. 0_o

So the poor organizer had to cab down with Yisheng (who is normally the most punctual guy to turn up for any meetups) in order to find him at the appointed meeting place. However, there was no sign of KS anywhere!!

According to Daniel, KS went to the meeting place, but doubled back to his god-mother's place as his batt was flat.. =S

Oh well, we ended up having dinner at Kenny Rogers at Suntec instead. I would say that it's a pretty good turnout: abt 10 of us! And of course, having fun and laughter throughout the dinner was just as entertaining, and here are our 2 main entertainers:

Attendance Call: ChangYong, Zaini, Yisheng, Kaisheng, Connie, Han, Eunice, Joanne (Gatecrasher!), and missing from the group shot, Ivan (ok, he's in the pic above) & gf.

Our dear friend who went to charge mobile phone, and did not SWITCH THE PHONE ON while charging! Grrr...

Anyway, Kenny Rogers at Suntec has bookshelves whereby they place real books over there for the customers to read! There's Chicken Soup for the Soul, Lonely Planet, Encyclopedias, Kid's Books, and many more!

PS: In case you were wondering, I did turn up, just that I went to Parkway Parade at 4 instead! LOL...

Change of Service Provider...

I want to change Service Provider!!

I'm with Singtel now, and I want to change to StarHub!

Reason? Very simple, SingTel is not giving me the service that can keep it at the top of the telco war. I've started to have problems with them the very last time I lost my phone, which would be around Mar08, I think.

With quite a number of problems that I faced with the replacement SIM card, which includes but not limited to:

  • Non SMS Sending (I can send an SMS in the morning at 9am and the message is still in out outbox at 6pm)
  • Lagging SMS Receiving (People sent SMS to me at 11am, and I only receive the message at 2pm)
  • Weak/Lack of reception (I've tried with O2, Nokia phones. No reception)
  • Auto restarting of the mobile phone (Have checked, not the mobile phone problem)
After calling the SingTel Customer Care hotline many times to feedback the problem, finally one CSO that I spoke to said, "Think the batch of SIM cards that we gave for the replacement SIM card was faulty". And guess what? He asked me to head down to any of their shops to get a replacement SIM card. There was no apologies, no damage control etc etc etc.

That irritated me. But this is not all. Upon contract expiry, all they offered was either: Getting a new phone at a cheaper price or $4 off monthly bill for 24 months. *Note: Both comes with a 2 year contract.

So, a customer of 10 years is only worth $96. Oh well, in that case, I might as well switch over to M1 or StarHub.

M1 has 35% discount when one has 4 lines under the subscriber name.
StarHub? They've got this Choose Freedom program, whereby you choose your Terms and Conditions to jump ship over to join StarHub. Furthermore, there's points accumulation to change for vouchers etc.

Since I'll not be signing for so many lines, StarHub is obviously my choice, and of course, the fact that M1's bills irritate the hell out of me does not help it much either.

Of course, I'd have made my Bid for Freedom already. Today's the day whereby I'll know if I get to switch over to StarHub on my terms, which are as follows:

But one funny thing is... I placed the bid after 14Jul08, while over at the results page it was stated that I would know of the outcome on the 14Jul08... Does it mean that StarHub can turn back the clock?!?

Dark Eye-ringed Bee?

Another weekend of great fun and lack of sleep!

Not that I'm complaining, but that means that I've got cut down my weekday socializing, for at least 2 weeks in order to rest and look well rested!

Friday, attended an Emerald hill group event: Absolutely Black held at Dbl O with Rayson. Saw a lot of old old friends there, friends that are active in the night entertainment scene (that sounds so sleazy), had total fun! Best thing is, I was home slightly after midnight! I can't believe it! =P

Saturday, Michelle's Party! Headed back to Dbl O again, drank and danced the night away. Evidence? See what happened to my boots:

I guess that if we'd been there longer I'll be shorter? Cos I would have danced my legs away! =D

Sunday: Kaisheng's birthday! And know what, he sent a formal invitation over! I think he got it printed at the printers, u know? Together with a map, shuttle bus directions on how to get over there.

Of course, being a chalet, and one of the fellow gamblers, we mahjong-ed till wee hours in the morning. With only 1 hour of sleep, I headed back to office. Can't believe that I survived Monday. =P

What we got him as a present? Portable mahjong set! Comes complete with a ‘table’ and tile support (just like Scrabble)! Very nice, so much so that it makes me want to get a set for myself too!

Spells, Anyone?

I am so hooked onto this song! Mercy By Duffy

Especially this part of the song:

I don't know what this is
but you got me good
just like you knew you would

I don't know what you do
but you do it well
I'm under your spell

Spellcaster, I absolutely love!

Give me someone that would make me 茶不思饭不想!

Fantastic Weekend!

How was your weekend?

Mine was fantastic! A totally carefree weekend, no stress, no worries, no inhibitions!

On Sat, met up with Darling to go shopping at Far East. Just 3 shops, and the damage done was simply great! A total loot of 1 coat, 3 shoes, 2 tops, 5 dresses caused my wallet to be lighter by the hundreds! =) Thank goodness I did not shop during the GSS period, otherwise, 后果不堪设想 .

We followed up with a trip down to the National Arts Museum as there were performances there as part of the Night Festival 2008. As the National Arts Museum was open during the period of time, and free entry, I might like to add, we headed in, took lotsa pictures as possible. Or rather, as many pictures as my camera batt could support. =P Too bad I did not charge up the battery before leaving the place, hence the battery did not last THAT long.

Here're some of the items from the Museum that were on display (pictures taken by Darling):

What we saw at the Night Festival:

Caught an open air screening of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was the classic version, not the one that was acted by Johnny Depp. Each version has its own merits, but what I simply love about this is it's atmosphere! =) Watching old films with fun loving people, in a open air cinema whereby they would have to change the film reels.

After which, there was a play of lights on the building. Here's one of them. To see more, visit:

On Sunday, was supposed to be down for the Nationals Competition weigh-in at National Training Centre at 2pm. Met Luke to pick Val at her place, during the journey which Luke was reminded that the verification documentations for some of our fighters were still with him.

In short, taxi uncle drove us from: Bedok - Telok Kurau - Bedok - Whampo (Val & myself only had to pay $4.50 each!) haha.. =P

As there was no training that evening, met up with Del. Went to the Seventh Storey Hotel @ Bugis just to simply look at the man-operated lift! It's so damn cool, and the uncle is so friendly and cute! =P Chilled out at Intercontinental Hotel, followed by 2 movies (Art of the Devil 3 & X-Files: I Want to Believe) and Zouk!

3 things I did that I've never before so far that I've lived: Going to a Hotel just to look at a particular feature (it had usually been food or drinks), 2 consecutive movies in the Cinemas on a weekend, as well as Zouking on a Sunday night! Just for Paul Van Dyke, who spins good! =) I can believe that I stayed till 3am, but I can't believe that I did get up in time for work, and am still at normal energy level!

If only every weekend is like that… *dreams*
