My First Chanel

Hohoho! It's time of the year again! The time of giving and receiving!

Guess what I got for my Christmas present this year?

Chanel No.5 Eau Première! It has a lighter smell as compared to the No 5 eau de parfum.

It's my first Chanel! And of course, not the last as I plan to get Coco Mademoiselle as well... ;)

And oh boy, check out the advertisements done for both Chanel No 5 and Coco Mademoiselle! I absolutely adore the spokeswomen for No 5 - Nicole Kidman (Previous) & Audrey Tautou (Current)!

Catmasutra

Got to know of this artist (Paul Koh <- Brother of the Blogger Mr. Wang Says so) with cats as his choice of work.

He is currently having an exhibition from the 17th - 27th DEC 2009 @ UTTERLY ART (229A South Bridge Road 2nd Level). Opening hours: 12 noon to 8pm, Mon to Sat. 12 noon to 5.30pm, Sun.

I do feel like going to take a look at his exhibition after looking at some of his items, available as coasters, magnets as well as tote bags! And furthermore, they are one of a kind, so you can be sure that you would not find a similar item at someone else's home!

Here are some of his works:

The Art of Marriage

Was reading through forums when this came up. Found this meaningful, so my dears, keep this locked in, yeah?

A good Marriage must be created.
In the art of Marriage the little things are the big things …
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say, “I love You”, at least once each day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives;
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is in giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is not only marrying the right partner.
It is being the right partner.

The Paradox of Our Time

The Paradox of our time in history is that:

we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers;
wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time.

We have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge,
but less judgment; more experts, but more problems;
more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly,
laugh too little, drive too fast, get angry too quickly, stay up too late,
get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.

We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life;
we’ve added years to life, not life to years.

We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor.

We’ve conquered outer space, but not inner space.

We’ve done larger things, but not better things.

We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.

We’ve split the atom, but not our prejudice.

We write more, but learn less.

We plan more, but accomplish less.

We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait.

We build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication.

We’ve become long on quantity, but short on quality.

These are times of fast foods and slow digestion;
tall men, and short character;
steep profits, and shallow relationships.

These are times of world peace, but domestic warfare;
more leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.

These are days of two incomes, but more divorces;
of fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers,
throwaway morality, one-night stands, overweight bodies,
and pills that do everything from cheer to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom and little in
our heart’s room; a time when technology can bring this letter to you, and
a time when you can choose either to share this insight,
or to just delete it.
